this is just a page listing the live shows where Atom Heart Mother is known to have been performed with Orchestra, please report any error/omission.

venues in yellow have no recordings circulating so far. The list is based on the details reported in the "The Pink Floyd Encyclopedia" book by Vernon Fitch; the "In The Flesh" book by Glenn Povey and Ian Russell; the "The Embryo - A Pink Floyd Chronology 1966-1971" book by Nick Hodges and Ian Priston.

Bath, Shepton Mallet, Somerset

announced as "The Amazing Pudding", was performed with orchestra for the first time, with the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble orchestra & the John Aldiss Choir directed by John Aldiss.

Both audio and video recordings are currently in general circulation, but the video source in still around only in an edited version.

1970 July 16 (BBC recording date)

Paris Theater, London

with the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble orchestra & the John Aldiss Choir directed by John Aldiss. First broadcast was on July 19 at 4pm

Audio recordings are circulating both off the radio broadcast and from the BBC archives (no audience recording is currently in circulation)

1970 July 18

Blackhill's Garden Party, Hyde Park free concert, London

announced as "The Athomic Heart Mother"  with the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble orchestra & the John Aldiss Choir directed by John Aldiss.

2 Audio recordings are in general circulation and at least 1 video recording of the event surely exists. "The Embrio" book reports: "a five hour concert from 1 to 6 pm which 100,000 people attended. The Show was privately filmed by a group of art students, but never received an official airing. The Film was however screened publicly on 2 occasions"

1970 September 12

Fete de L'Humanite, Bois de Vincennes, Paris, France

with Brass & Choir, conductor unknown.

One audio recording is currently in general circulation but cut on ASOS, so AHM is not available, someone supposes this recording to be from video.

1970 September 27 (early & late show)

Fillmore East, New York City, New York

with the Roger Wagner Chorale (20-voice choir), brass conducted by Peter Philips.

Only a partial recording of the early show is currently in general circulation and the date of that AHM fragment there included is in question (since there's either no orchestra or choir there audible ... the fragment is probably filled from some other date in that recording)

1970 October 21

Fillmore West, San Francisco, California

with the Roger Wagner Chorale, brass conducted by Peter Philips / extra encore was a Choir-only "Ave Maria"

No recordings are currently in circulation, there are tapes (and boots also) around labeled as 70-10-21 that are really 70-4-29

1970 October 23

Civic Center, Santa Monica, California

with the Roger Wagner Chorale, brass conducted by Peter Philips.

Two audio recordings are currently in general circulation, one is so far available on Boot LP only (incomplete) and was often mislabeled as 70-10-16 and also 71-09-28

with brass & choir conducted by Jeffrey Mitchell (this was near not to happen cause the AHM score was left in London and the crew noticed that just at 6pm, The score arrived by air courier in Dusseldorf and escorted by a police Porsche at the show, arrived at 10.30)

No recordings are currently in general circulation, there are tapes around labeled as 71-02-24 that are really 71-11-25

1971 February 25

Großer Saal, Musikhalle , Hamburg , West Germany

with brass & choir conducted by Jeffrey Mitchell

One audio recording is currently in general circulation, the complete recording is so far available on LP only, but the unique AHM is also available not from LP, from genuine fan tapes (supposed to be from an alt. recorder but it is really the same recorder as the LP boot)

1971 February 26

Stadthalle, Offenbach, West Germany

with brass & choir conducted by Jeffrey Mitchell (REMERGENCE)

Two audio recordings are currently in general circulation, one complete from fantapes and the other from LP boot includng only 2 songs (Blues and AHM), it seems that many collectors "snobbed" this alt. recorder that is rarely mentioned, it's probably a complete recorder as well, but circulated incomplete on the LP boot only so far.

1971 April 03

Two audio recordings are currently in general circulation, one complete from fantapes and the other from LP boot only so far (incomplete).

1971 June 12

Palais des Sports, Lyon, France

with the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble orchestra & the John Aldiss Choir directed by John Aldiss; with a 20-voice choir plus 3 trombones, 3 trumpets and 1 tuba.

One audio recording is currently in general circulation taken from the Europa 1 France radio broadcast. (no audience recordings are corrently in circulation)

1971 July 1

Stiftshof, Ossiach, Austria

with Brass & Choir, conductor unknown.

the concert was part of the "3 Internationales Musikforum Ossiacheersee"; a concert programme reveals that the PF appearance was preceded by a performance of the Mozart's KV 467 piano concerto by the famous Austrian pianist Friedrich Gulda

One audio recording of the Pink Floyd performance is currently in general circulation

1971 September 18/19 (Festival de Musique Classique)

Altes Casino, Montreux, Switzerland

with members of the London Philarmonic Orchestra and choir; on "The Embryo" book is reported that l'Orchestre Symphonique De Vienne may have accompanied the Floyd on AHM.

The Pink FLoyd performed the evening show on 9-18 and the afternoon show on 9-19.

Two audio recording of the Pink Floyd performance are currently in general circulation of the eveninf show on 18/9/71
