notes about the notes:

"RoIO" = Recordings of Indeterminate Origin

I'm not interested in buying recordings and above all I do not sell any on the recordings listed in my pages under any circumstance nor I deal with people who have this bad habit or are known to  provde sources to boot-labels; if you've some sorta business with boot-labels please avoid to get in touch with me, it would be no difficult for me to know if some of the recordings listed in my pages are then bootlegged and sold because of you. This site is a list of recordings I collected and collect for my own pleasure, I hope the few details here reported are of any help to other genuine collectors and fans like me who love to keep this hobby out of any business.

Legenda

about the sources:

ST = studio (unreleased outtakes, demos etc...)

A = audience (a recording made by a fan in the crowd)

SB/SBD = soundboard; as SBD it's generally considered by many (me included) any recording taken for a broadcasting purpose or by radio/staff people or generally taken with some sorta "authorization" for whatever possibly "legitimate" use but then never officially released, usually excluding pirate-radio broadcasts generally labeled as only "radio" being mostly recorded with standard equipment. SBD doesn't exctly mean a recording made by the mixing desk.

R = radio (broadcast/pre-broadcast)

V = video

TV = television (from broadcast)

about the recorders: recorders are specified adding a number to the source (ex: A/1= audience/recorder 1 - A/2 = audience/recorder 2 ... and so on); in case of distinctly different copies of the same recorder I also add a note like "source1, 2,3 etc.." see below:

time length: Lenght may have an approximation (by defect or by excess) of 1- 4 seconds due to the different players. the tot length here listed, as well as the SQ, is relative to the recording of the present venue, not to the whole CD-release. bonus and stuff are excluded here for an easier check. Exact lineage (where known) on RoIO details pages or on request.

Ť = transferred into digital by myself from borrowed cassette tapes.

about the pictures/samples on my site:
They are here for the pleasure of the visitors of this site , not for whatever kinda commercial/business purpose, credits are always posted (where known). If you believe some pics should not be posted in this site just let me know and I'll remove them asap.

about the notes & rating:

almost every version listed in the following pages is linked to pages reporting details and comments, but none of the notes posted is/will be ever 100% ultimate and can be modified according to my will/need every time I’d consider it as necessary/indispensable. Any page has different comments, I suggest to read all the notes of all the different versions listed for the same recording/date to get full details.

.I DO NOT WRITE REVIEWS.

- ratings are totally subjective and I tend to be very generous as well as very severe, since those are not focused on the SQ only but also on the performance and on the 'editing/mastering' of the particular version; an excellent sounding recording having a poor editing/mastering will have not a full EX in these pages, as well as a properly mastered very good sounding recording of a very well performed gig would get an EX+ or maybe a SUP-

someday I'll possibly make a distinction between the 2 kinda ratings (SQ/mastering vs. performance) ... if I’ll do it it will be not soon though.

- please forgive and report any possible oversight/ inaccuracy as well as typos, English is not my first language and there are a bunch of those! If my English is so bad to make impossible for you to understand the sense of it just ask me and I'll do my best to explain myself better.

- if you consider some notes laking of details and you want me to add other specific ones, just ask, but please do not consider my site as a place to fill with any sorta stuff, it's just *my* site, period.

about the artworks:
I tend to show the artwork/cover of the versions listed for an easier identification although since they are mainly made by fans a single version might have many different artworks, in that case I post the most famous one. I tend to post tickets or posters scans when there's no artwork to show... because I like that. In some cases the ticket might coincide with the actual one owned by the taper of the recording listed, I'll see to specify that when possible.

about the "work"

The site is maintained by myself only. There's just 1 person behind all this and that's me, that's why it will be never complete.

Without somepeople my work would have not been possible anyway, so my deepest THANK YOU to all the people who kindly share this hobby with me and helped/help me out to go on enjoying these wonderful recordings. Special thanks to the Ones who know are deserving this!

hope you'll have some fun navigating my pages.

take care.
