SHELTER-National Campaign for the Homeless benefit
this is a weird version from the master, sounds smoother than the HRV release
but has a weird cut on the 14Khz.
or a compression or some kind of artifact was used.
This was someway believed to corresponded to a recorder 2 of
the gig but it's actually the same recorder as the one widely in circulation, although it's really
longer than the other releases, having more tuneups ... a recorder 2 of the gig
exists but of a much iferior SQ.
'REELING IN PINK FLOYD' - TAPE 15+13
this version corresponds to the
long-source already in circulation, having although clean tape cuts
compared to the CD version above. Also here it seems that no compression or
whatever have been applied. This long version of this recorder is both in the
DVD4 (tape 13+15) and in the DVD6 (tape 26) of the Reeling In Pink Floyd series.
Sound quality of both the versions is about the same, the version of Tape 26 has
small edits (audience) but is still longer than the "short" version (source1)
that was in circulation.

TAPE 15+13
This show came in two parts on different tapes. I have spliced it all back
together only omiting repeated parts or silence. I have corrected the track
order too.
This tape is a mess...First, lemme say I think this is dual channel mono or
something. Seems like no stereo effects at all compared to the Master... for the
moment. This tape also seems like it was certainly mastered at a lower volume
than the Master resulting in less distortion, which the Master certainly has.
This recording sounds maybe a bit clearer in parts because of this, but not as
powerful.
Here's some good things...
Interestingly enough is about 1:37m more of audience at the begining of this
tape than the Master I have... “Master”- (cass[M]>cdr(?)) [128:58] shn EX
(Recorder 1). There is also a couple more seconds before the start of Speak to
Me and here you can hear Rogand Dave clearly say "Thank you, thank you
GOODNIGHT" at the end of Eclipse, in which "GOODNIGHT" is barely inaudible on
the Master. On the Master you can hear a cross-fade or something begin just
after this. On this tape it cuts after Eclipse and before OoTD and there is just
a few seconds more audience here as as well. After OoTD there is about 31 more
secondsof audience too.
Here's some not so good things...The sound is pretty good on this tape until you
get to Echoes where it just deteriorates. Echoes sounds like it was recorded
from inside my shoe. It looks horrible and I assume it's some sort of processing
or some problem with thetape. I can't really tell. After Echoes we move to the
Dark Side set where it seems we get some good sound back and stereo definition
right before Speak to Me and then it goes away. Then it kinda comes back during
Money andstays there till the end of the set. Sounds the best during ACYL, which
is a good thing.
Then finally we move to the encore, OoTD. This song is a disaster as well. Seems
to have thesame issue as Echoes.
