notes:

Yet another recording of this gig, this is a recorrding surfacing only now from the masters, sound quality isn't spectacular but very listenable. The recording is not complete (see notes above)

notes as they came with the files:
Recorded from the South Grand Tier.
Row E seat 103.
Recorded originally on mono cassette recorder - make not known.
Transferred to AKAI 400DS2 in November 1974. so second generation copy this is not altered in anyway and as I recorded it back in '74!!
Copied using audacity and audigy external USB soundcard at 96/24 FLAC.

additional notes:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is a second gen master, inasmuch that I recorded the original and the cassette fell apart so I copied it 121 onto my Akai 4000 DS reel to reel with no loss (back in November 1974) it could account also for the final 2 mins missing on DSOTM.
I've looked for any of the 14th but at the moment it's bad news I will go through my cassettes again but not very hopeful I'm afraid.
Seeding now.... thanks for your help (fatoldpig)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
master cassette direct to reel 121 ('scuse my lingo) directly recorded meaning 121 with no modification
Please note this is a fresh recorder never been uploaded or copied/issued before.

Guys
It's all up and seeding now.
To clarify:
1.Concert recording done by me on cassette.
2.Cassette transferred by me a week after the concert [back in Nov 74] (because the cassette tape was faulty - C120's were terrible for this) onto Reel to Reel.
3.THis transfer is from the Reel as the cassette is no more and was transferred directly to FLAC using Audicity @96/24 as a stereo pair (dual mono) although the cassette was mono.
5. There are no edits or cuts it is pure WYSIWYG. Warts and all. (lots of warts I'm afraid)

Thanks I will get my 'scope out and chase this as I am a reel to reel freak by heart. I will report back when I track down where the noise is from. Could be the soundcard and if that is the case I will re-record it on a better quality interface.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've heard the noise and cannot explain where it is from. I didn't hear it on my bookshelf speakers, when I did the transfer (didn't hear it on cans too) but when I played it on my hi-fi it (today) was very apparent. It may be some wide band artifact from my Revox that is not being filtered out (bias noise caused by a duff capacitor?). It certainly will not be on the master as i would be surprised to get above 10Khz on this tape, it is so old....
Anyway give me a couple of weeks and I will re-post without the noise - please accept my apologies guys...
