Few recorders exist for this nice gig, 2 recorders are available in general circulation for this date so far, the first never circulated digitally if not sourced from vinyl (the legendary Crackers vinyl) and was used to fill several other roios (also from other dates), the second recorder is really better in sound quality though it's shorter and was dscovered in a second time. Also a well known video recording exists in an incredible nice quality. recorder 1: "Crackers" TAKRL (3LP) + the various different re-editions; "Cracked" Seagull Records (3CD); "Cracked Crackers" DFA-038 (2CD); all the CDs are sourced from the various Crackers LP editions like this or this made by Pinkrudy etc... recorder 2: "Crackers" Zeus; "Staying Home To Watch The Rain" (GDR); "Bowl De Luna" (HRV); "Exploding In Your Mind"; "The Fireman Tapes Volume II"; "Scratch the Silence" (STEN) etc... and versions sourced from the Master Reel clones recorder 3: is around on fantapes only, this is almost complate and should be missing part of ASOS only, the tape I checked has it cut before the end only and patched in the very end with another source then, or something like this, it also has Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun fading out and Echoes missing the very beginning (pin's); sound quality is very fine although not as much as recorder 2 recorder 4: recently surfaced from Reels, this source is almost complete with the exception of a few fades/in-out recorder 5: this source is missing One Of These Days and Careful, there is a version from 3rdGen around.
main points where to recognize the tapers: recorder 1 on ASOS: the taper bumps on the mic at the beginning during the tune-ups recorder 1 on CWTAE: a guy laughs at the very end recorder 2 on OOTD: a guy near to the taper says "one of these days I'm gonna cut you into little pieces" at the beginning of the song recorder 2 on ECHOES: at the begining the taper bumps the mic several times; on recorder 1 a guy yells during the tune-ups recorder 3 on STM: you can hear people moving a lot around the taper and the taper talking with a friend and moving the recorder. recorder 3 on CWTAE:at the beginning someone near to the mics says "are you (we?) ready for this!?" and someone near to him answers "ahh, Careful with that axe, Eugene"......... recorder 4 on ECHOES: between the 1st and the 2nd "pin" someone near to the mic has a cough recorder 5 on STM and before each song: right at the very beginning of the show before the heartbeats the taper and someone near to him talk for long and loud, they go on talking till Breathe starts. They do talk a lot also before and suring the beginning of each song recorded
