01. Atom Heart Mother[19:27] 01. The
Return Of The Son Of Nothing[25:26]
notes:
This is the complete recorder 1 of this gig, the recorder already
commonly available on tape. This version is the source for both
the 2 sources that were around on tape for this recorder, which had edits, while
this version has no edits and includes the integral
recording as it was recorded as it seems ... also this version has a couple of
pieces of recording more that were not included in either the 1st or the 2nd
source-tapes of this recorder in circulation before. No more pieces of music are
included unfortunately though: The Embryo is always cut near to the end as in
the other sources; ASOS is only the very beginning and then cut like in the old
sources.
the pieces surfacing on this version that were not available
before on tape are: on Cymbaline:
before the song starts there is an about 40-second longer piece of tuneups and
audience chatter + the intro to the song which wasn't in the sources I checked
before. The sound quality
of this version is also much better than what was on tape before. notes as they

AHM: A longer piece of audiece/tuneups at the very
beginning of the recording is here audible, longer than in both the sources of
this recorder that I checked before.
This is the longest, most complete known version of this show to date, and is
NOT another SHN archive drudged up from an out-of-print CD! It features a
prehistoric version of "Echoes" and is a unique and an amazingly good
performance overall.
"Mrs. Doinker" and I visited Prague in November. On the way back, we stopped to
stay with our German friends Mr. & Mrs. (Herr und Frau) Peter D. This is the
person responsible for the source vinyl for the "Pictures Of Pink Floyd"
restoration project, and it's him I have to thank for this most unexpected
surprise. While thumbing through his amazing record collection, I ran across a
BASF reel tape labeled PINK FLOYD DUESSELDORF. "What's this?" I asked. "Oh,
that" he said with an unexpected air. "I had totally forgotten about that... Do
you still have a reel machine?" "Yes", I said. "Take it", he said.
When home again, I compared the setlist against the two known Pink Floyd dates,
and found it to be the rarer of the two. Something was wrong with the sound, so
Dime member The TooleMan has carefully restored the sound quality. As an added
bonus to you all, Dime member G The Cock (one of the best for artwork!) has made
you a new cover to keep the goods!
