notes:
what a pity, this in obviously a mislabeled show.
To me it was quite clear it's the Montreux 71 performance since the first
seconds of Echoes because of a peculiar sound there when the song starts that
was stuck here in my mind and that I soon recognized (there are a couple of
notes Wright plays there, as a little tune that sounds really unique) all the
recording is mislabeled of course. Even without that tune on Echoes spinning
here in my mind as a familiar sound there would have been no choice margin:
here we have Atom Heart Mother performed with orchestra (which already limits
the choice) and Echoes ... these 2 songs were played together only in Montreux
on 1971 ... so the *real* date would have been identified even without listening
to the performance.
This is the incomplete recording, it's not speedcorrected and sounds a bit hissy,
although the brightness of the sound is about the same as on the versions I
previously got. Done that many good versions of this recording are around I
would really not bother with this one. I've been told it was mastered from
vinyl. |
