notes:
this is a nice upgrade to the common versions that circulated before, except the JBeat remaster, i'd say the JBeat remaster of "Dark Side Of The Rising Sun" is quite comparable to this in sound quality and pretty raw. Still, if the info here provided are right it's something nice to collect and if the sound quality is not that improved there are here nice tuneups more that are worth a listen in any case.
notes as they came with the files:
The tale: ca. 1990, the taper for some Japanese concerts had a friend transfer his master reels to DAT. Those original DATs were loaned in 2005 by the person who transferred them to another friend who cloned them for me. The information on what microphones and tape deck were used to produce this excellent incomplete stereo audience recording is lost to time.
Master Reel > DAT(tranferrer's) > DAT(mine) > PC > CDWave > FLAC
-transferred to PC digitally using Coresound 7-pin cable
-M-Audio S/PDIF soundcard input recorded in Sony Vegas Video
-sample rate changed from 48kHz to 44.1kHz with Wavelab for cd audio
-no other changes made and no edits performed
