notes:

source 1
tape labeled: 1972 December 2 - Palais des Sports de L'ile de la Jatte, Saint Ouen
generation: ?
original ? generation cassette label = Sony D90x1
transferred by me in November 2005 from borrowed cassette tapes with many thanks to G.G.!:
my playback deck = TEAC W-860R
my audio card = Sound Blaster Live
recorded into HD via Cool Edit Pro
Tape1:
SideA: STM >>> Eclipse
SideB: OOTD / CWTAE / Echoes (cut)
notes:
about same contents as the "denoised" part of the Saint Ouen CDs in general circulation!. Echoes is here cut at the end (that's why
probably that common cd version has another source to cover this part). Sound quality is slightly inferior to source2. G/G+ in SQ, nothing
more. I did nothing on the transfer, just edited out a repeated piece between the 2 tapesides. No NR used. Speed is different than on
source 2.

source 2
tape labeled: 1972 December 1 or 2 - Palais des Sports de L'ile de la Jatte, Saint Ouen
generation: ?
original ? generation cassette label = SonyHF90x1+TDK-SA90x1
transferred by me in November 2005 from borrowed cassette tapes with many thanks to G.G.!:
my playback deck = TEAC W-860R
my audio card = Sound Blaster Live
recorded into HD via Cool Edit Pro
Tape1:
SideA: STM >>> Eclipse
SideB: OOTD / CWTAE / Echoes
Tape2:
SideA: // + Childhood's End
SideB: //
notes:
this is the audience source of the Saint Ouen or Brussels show, sound quality is bad, as already stated before but this tape was
transferred without NR and in spite of the hiss you can at least listen to some drums and to some highs almost totally imperceptible in the denoised CD-version that is in general circulation!
these are the main differences with the common CD in circulation "Saint Ouen" (which is evidently from 2 different sources as well)
missing: great part of Speak To Me (starts late); part of Brain Damage (due to a tapecut); part of the intermissions before OOTD; the
intro to Echoes
has more: a small part of few secs more of intermission before CWTAE; more tuneups before Childhood's end.
I did nothing on the tape, just removed a part repeated at the begnning of U&T (point of junction is perfect and nothing is perceptible);
also I retouched the speed a bit since tape 1 used to run slow and tape2 did run almost OK. There's also to underline how tape1 and
tape2 sound different one another, the TDK-SA tape was a bit dolbied and originally more amplified than the SonyHF, I leveled the volume
to make them sound as much similar as possible.

About the date: as the belgian radio broadacat revealed and the recorder 2 later also, the 12-5 is the correct date for this performance

back to: 1972 December 05 Brussels VS 1972 December 02 Saint Ouen
