notes: tape labeled: 1973 March 18 - NY generation: 2nd original 2nd generation cassette label = Maxell-XLII-90x2 transferred by me in January 2006 from borrowed cassette tapes with many thanks to T! and P!: my playback deck = TEAC W-860R my audio card = Sound Blaster Live recorded into HD via Cool Edit Pro sideA: The Dark Side Of The Moon (STM > Brain Damage / Eclipse-cut) sideB: The Dark Side Of The Moon (Brain Damage / Eclipse-reprise) / OOTD / OBC / WY'reI / STC sideC: CWTAE sideD: Echoes notes: Same contents than on the cass[1]>DAT version of this recorder, this tape was actually copied from that 1st generation tape used there. Even if Dolby B have been used on the copy this tape is pretty hissy, especially sideB results more hissy than the rest of the tape. I think that in spite of the hiss I managed to get the best definition possible, I like it slightly better than the cass[1]>DAT>cd version having more defined highs. The same metallic noise as on the cass[1]>DAT>cd version is here, it is on the actual tapes, weird but that's it! It's on both part of OBC/WY'reI and at the end of Money. I did nothing after the transfer apart joining tapesides: - sideA&B on Brain Damage, keeping out the repeated piece of this song (long piece was repeated beween the 2 tapesides) - side B&C at the beginning of CWTAE on the audience intermission, keeping out some repeated portion. Note that this tape was labeled as Radio City Music Hall, NY but dated as 73-3-18! also note how this recorder has tape1 and tape2 inverted. |
