notes:
from the second recorder of the gig, the incomplete one.
This tape has a bit more of instrument and vocals definition than the version I had before, even though it is not THAT upgrade;
it does reveal also a little "surprise".
The contents are the same as on the other version I had from this recorder:
- The verse with the number on Pigs is missing
- the second set wasn't recorded and got filled with recorder 1
but! here there's a part of the beginning of SOYCD 1-5 till the first Gilmour's guitar tunes , totally missing in the other version I had.
Actually, my other version has SOYCD 1-5 fading in (missing right the very beginning), then there is a little cut after some seconds and the recording then goes on till the end. At the end it is cut and WTTM enters in from the recorder 1.
Here on the contrary we have the very beginning of SOYCD 1-5 at the end of sideA, surely from recorder 2, then the recording cuts after the first Gilmour's guitar tunes and it goes on on SideB restarting from the beginning, but no more from recorder 2; on sideB and C is it ALL from recorder 1 from this point on...
This means we have 2 sources both with the same contents but:
source 1: (my other version) has SOYCD till the end / missing the very beginning
source 2: (this version) has the very beginning of SOYCD only.
There's to notice something anyway, that little cut on SOYCD 1-5 on the "source1" tape after some minutes into the recording (exactly at minute 1:11 on my cds); that cut corresponds more or less to the part of the song where the cut happens at the end of sideB on this "source2" tape too.
Once noticed that I started suspecting again about the rest of SOYCD 1-5 on the "source1" tape; is it really all recorder 2? or does recorder 1 enter as filler since this point/cut on the "source1" tape too?.
I already showed my doubts about it as I was never able to 100% confirm SOYCD 1-5 was all from recorder 2 on that "source1" tape .... now this coincidence of the cuts on both the sources rises the doubt again.
After a deep check my doubts still persist, the 2 recorders have no audience comments during SOYCD 1-5 apart the ones at the beginning that let me distinguish them, but source1 here is missing the beginning, so that isn't helpful. I was able to catch some chatting way far from the taper on the SOYCD 1-5 of the "source1" of recorder 2 tape anyway that I can't catch on my versions of recorder 1, also there's to take into consideration the almost perfect coincidence of sound quality of SOYCD 1-5 before and after the cut on the "source1" tape.
This isn't a proof maybe, but let me feel like keeping this SOYCD 1-5 on the "source1" tape of recorder 2 as being from recorder 2 indeed.. so far... waiting hopefully for a clarification of this point someday.... someway...
Apart these confusing notes I just miss to talk about some technical details:
there's a cut between the end of Dogs and the beginning of POTW part 2 that I left almost untouched, removing just some seconds of tape silence between them and keeping the actual cut evident listening to the recording, for making it even more evident I made the Dogs track finishing right on the cut.
Same about the cuts on the part from the 1st recorder of the gig: between HAC and WYWH and between WYWH and SOYCD 6-9.
Last but not least there's to talk about this "filler" from recorder 1 indeed.
This part of recorder 1 here included to complete the show is surely one of the nicest sounding version of that recorder I found so far. It is not an EX version of course, I doubt that recording would ever reach an EX, a VG is well deserved ... pity it is just the second set, but it maybe frees some hopes to find a decent sounding tape of that recorder someday.
Also the end SOYCD 6-9 is split on sideB and sideC, I joined the 2 parts removing the repeated peice and the patch turned out
perfect.

haha charade you are!

Waters "whispers" 12 on 3rd verse of Pigs on this date, but on this recorder the part of the song with the number is missing
