from the 3rd recorder of this wonderful gig.The
generation of this tape is unknown but prolly low. It does sound better than
recorder 2 to me and I prefer it to the monoish sound of recorder 1 too. Sound
quality varies, it reaches the full EX but at times it's a VG+, especially Money
is of inferior quality, indeed checking it better I found it to be a patch from
recorder 1. SOYCD 6-9 has some distortions (40 seconds more or less) from
minute 13:20 on, but till the end SOYCD 6-9 this tape is is surely from rec.3
Money:
rec.1 - guys talk in the back before the song starts; a guy at a certain point
yells in the back "money.... (and something in german?), this is the same on
this tape from rec.3; Money is definitely from rec1 on the tape!
SOYDC 6-9:
rec.1 - at the very end you can hear a guy says "ahhh" and then laughs, then
after the Waters' greetings other guys yell stuff in german.
rec 3 - a guy in the beck says "woooo" at the very end at that point and soon
after the Waters' greeting the recording stops.
Pigs has the very beginning (few secs) repeated on sideA and sideB of tape1, I
joined it, the point of junction is not evident, it'sat
minute: 2:21 of track 4;
on the contraty I left very evident the junction of HAC and WYWH (end of sideB
of tape1 > beginning of sideA of tape2) leaving the few secs of silence/tape
hiss between them.
I think I chose the right levels to transfer this, managing to give power to the
music and leaving all untouched as always.
difference in tot length between the raw rip of the tapes' sides and the indexed
version is due to mere silence edited out for the
final version. |
