notes:
Nice tape, better than the one used for the CD version in general circulation,
this tape has more bass definition and more deepness overall. The general sound
quality is better than the version in circulation I'd say, less shrill and
warmer, this especially on some songs, less noticeable on others. Also the speed
here is right to me, the other version I had was a bit fast.
The tape presents some light clicks in the back, this is on other copies too and
turned out as an annoying noise on the other CD version I had
before, especially cause
it was mastered at a too loud volume, here the clicks are barely perceptible on
headphones only and I did nothing to remove them, leaving all totally raw; I
mastered the tape at a decent volume and there are no digital imperfections.
The copy I transferred was on 2 tapes of different brand
one another: tape A is a BASF Chrome 90m tape, tape B is a TDK SA-90, the sound
of the sideC (the TDK tape) is a bit different from the rest for this reason.
I patched Don't Leave Me Now (split on the 2 tapesides). The patch turned almost
perfect, not rough as on the other CD version in circulation
SideC is less amplified than side A&B (tape2 is also of a different band, again)
so the patch there didn't turn out perfect, but I joined the exact point of the
recording without having anything missed or repeated, it's just perceptible a
distinct change of sound quality (at the beginning of RLH on the announcement)
Other cuts and stops are here as on the other copy I had, nothing more, nothing
less
Waters on RLH: "You get that pig out of here! Have you all seen enough of the
pig? Home piggy, go on. Gonna do a song in a minute for all the disco freaks in
the audience; also for all the paranoids and psychopaths; also for Alan Jones of
the Melody Maker - you stupid shit - winner of the small brain contest 1980.
It's called 'Run Like Fuck!'"
