notes:
Truly nice
recording from the 5th recorder of this gig, amazing the quantity of recorder
survived of this great show.
These particular
tapes were a bit hard to transfer, for some reasons they had some static noise
when I played them on my deck the 1st time, it totally vanished when I played
them the 2nd time for the transfer though. amazing.
this is what I did
to the transfer:
- I joined the end
of sideA and the beginning of sideB removing a little part repeated between the
2 tapesides, the point of junction is not perceptible (it occurs when Empty
Spaces starts).
- there's a gap before "One Of My Turns" on the tape that I left untouched.
- Hey you has a gap near to the beginning, stops after the beginning actually
and goes on when Gilmour sings "open your heart, i'm
coming home", I left also this one untouched as I guess it's on the master, also
the sound quality changes after the cut and then gets
better after about a minute ... like the taper had the mics/recorder hidden and
then exposed it again.
- I joined the end of sideB and the beginning of sideC removing a little part
repeated between the 2 tapesides, the point of junction is not perceptible (it
occurs when ITAOT starts)
- I joined the end of sideC and the beginning of sideD removing a little part
repeated between the 2 tapesides, the point of junction is not perceptible (it
occurs near to the end of the intro of RLH before Waters says "this is for all
the weak people in the audience)
- there's a gap before Waiting For The Worms that I left untouched.
I did nothing to the transfer then, no
post-amplification/boosting/speedcorrection of any kind.
It's easy to recognize this recorder from these few ID points:
- the intro at the beginning starts from "standing on their chairs, will be
shot" and the taper or someone near to him says "will be shot"
along with the MC
- before Vera, on the recording from "The Battle Of Britain" the taper or
someone near to the mic speaks along the tape ...
- on the MC intro before ITF (second set) the taper or someone near to the mic
speaks along with the MC in the following points saying:
"good evening ladies and gentlemen"
then again "no, not quite yet"
and then "opportunity"
and then "explosions in your mind"
and then again "no, no not quite yet"
and again " will be shot, shot!"
and again "no, no, not quite yet!" |
