This sounds like my incomplete "good" version (the "Shine On" boot), I'd say in
some parts this version is even a bit brighter than "Shine On"; "Shine On" is a
bit smoother, but the fact this is a totally raw version (whereas the boot have
been evidently remastered) makes it overall brighter, yes.
It's a nice surprise to find an old unknown gen fantape sounding this good.
The music here is more defined than on my other complete version (supposed from
4thGen), well they sound very different. This version has not those pretty weird
crackles the 4th Gen has in some loud parts; they are very marked especially on
Dogs ... this version is free from that. Vocal parts are sometimes more defined
on my other complete version, I noticed it in the not-loud parts especially, I'd
say this version is a bit more bassy, that's maybe the reason; Furthermore the
4thGen was probably transferred with an old equipment and is missing the
high-end; this version is 100% raw with an intact high-end.
Some more little audience parts are here present, but nothing so noticeable,
just few seconds here and there, some other parts are here missing on the
contrary and unfortunately Pigs and SOYCD (1-5) fades out before the end (they
were this way on the tape). The little stops between some songs are here as on
all the other versions I've listened to.
Speed is different from my other versions as well but sounds OK. |
