1980 February 24

setlist: the usual one

Waters on Run Like Hell: "Do you like my piggy? He's not too keen on some of you. This next tune is dedicated to all the paranoids in the audience. I'm sure there are a few of you out there, and it's called 'Run Like Hell.' Piggy! Home...ooh...ooh'"

recorders known: few ones (prolly over 3 ones)

recorders in circulation on CD: 3;  untitled (mix of 2 recorders)) ; 2ndGen copy (mix of 2 recorders); LowGen (recorder 1 only)

recorder 1: untitled (mix of 2 recorders)) ; 2ndGen copy (mix of 2 recorders); LowGen (recorder 1 only): this recorder seems to include only from the second half of Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2) to Stop! this was filled for the beginning and the end of the show with another recorder on many tapes, we still don't have evidences of the actual contents of this recorder 2.

recorder 2: untitled (mix of 2 recorders)) ; 2ndGen copy (mix of 2 recorders). See above.

recorder 3: alleged 1st gen

to distinguish recorder 1 from recorder 2:

on Stop: after Waters yells "stop!" a guy in the audience yells roughly something like "down the wall" on recorder 1;  at the same point repeated on the tape-filler from  recorder 2 a guy yells too but just "wooow";

to distinguish recorder 1 from recorder 3:

on Hey You: there's just a few of a chat near to the mic before the beginning of the song on  recorder 3, while on  recorder 1 there's a lot of aoudience noise round the mic and the tapes also bumps the mic many times, very evidently when  Gilmour sings "without a fight".

to distinguish recorder 2 from recorder 3:

on The Thin Ice: people near to the taper chat loud right on the mic. while Waters sings his part ("If you should go skating .... Appears under your feet") on recorder 2.

1980 February 25

setlist: the usual one

Waters on Run Like Hell: "Do you our pig? Yeaaaaaaaaaahhh! He's not a very nice pig, but he's a BIG pig! This next tune, I'd like to dedicate to all the parnoids in the audience. I'm sure there's a few in the house, and it's called 'Run Like Hell.' ..bye piggy, get down piggy, Disco!"

recorders known: few ones (probably over 4)

recorders in circulation on CD: 2;

recorder 1: the very common one is the one used by MoLM for their release, they used recorder 2 to fill the show since this recorder seems to be missing intro and very beginning of the show; clones on DAT from the masters are also in circulation like this that also includes a taper monologue at the end.

recorder 2: surfaced from a 1stGen few years ago, this includes the full show and was used to fill the beginning of recorder 1 on some tapes/CD releases (see above)

recorrder 3: fair recording with few little cuts at least on the tape copies available in some collectors' archives, no CDs are circulating so far. This is a complete recording starting in the middle of the MC intro with few little cuts between songs and a weird cut in the middle of The Trial

recorder 4: surfaced on 2011, complete, directly from the masters

recorder 5: in circulation only since 2011 in digital format thanks to this unknown generation copy

points to distinguish them:
recorder1:

this is full of audience chatting near to the taper, quite easy to identify.

intro/ITF? > no intro, starts from the song, the taper moves the mic during the beginning of the song. At the end, when The Thin Ice begins you can hear various people talking near to the recorder, also a lady says "oh sh**" at a certain point (it's very clear).. she also yells quite loudly on The Thin Ice before the singing starts and as soon as Gilmour starts singing "mama loves you baby" she yells loudly again .

Young Lust > the same lady as before yells "woo-ho..wow...woo" very clearly as soon as Waters announces the song.
recorder2:

intro/ITF? > intro quite complete, after the announcer says " The band is setting up and will be ready to go pretty soon" guy near to the tape says "not yet"; after the announcer says "Signed lover of the year" a guy yells "woo" right near to the mic; after the announcer says "my my, hey hey" someone (sounds like a lady) yells "yeah!" near to the mic >> note that this recorder was sometimes used to patch recorder 1 since that's missing the intro!
The Empty Spaces > near to the the beginning a guy near to the mic clearly says "Young Lust"

recorder3:

intro/ITF? > starts about when the announcer start talking about Neil Young

recorder4:

intro/ITF? > complete, pleople near to the taper yell over the very beginning of the intro, like the 2 people yelling together "yeah" near to the taper after "we are gonna have a fine show tonight"

between the first and the second set > there's the full piece when in the break Waters talk to the audience, when Waters ask the audience to stay quiet someone near to the mic says very clearly "damn right!"

recorder5:

intro/ITF? > starts when the announcer says "we are going to have a fine show tonight" - after the announcer says " The band is setting up and will be ready to go pretty soon" someone behind the taper yells "com'on" pretty clearly.

1980 February 26

setlist: the usual one

Waters on Run Like Hell: "Thank you. Do you like our pig? We like him; he hasn't got a lot of class but there's a lot of him. This next song is for all the paranoids in the audience, and it's called 'Run Like Hell.' Home piggy, go home, raus (in German accent) get out -schnell!"

recorders known: few ones (maybe over 3)

recorders in circulation on CD: 3;

recorder 1: this was once the common recorder released with the title "PERFOMED LIVE 1980" by the Digital Floyd Archives label, fantapes of this recorder are also around but not in as good quality as far as I could check at now, this is actually labeled as coming from the masters but may mean anything.. It is missing 2 songs filled from the 80.8.6 recording, notes say "Because the pause button was stuck after intermission, a taper missed taping 'In the Flesh' and 'The Show Must Go On'". actually the true master surfaced recently in November 2010 by the taper confirming this.

recorder 2: surfaced few years ago from a copy of the master, 2 versions were put into circulation on CD, one pretty rough compared to the other and isn't still clear if the source used was the same:

version/source1: "SILENT REPROACH";

version/source2: 1stGen, fixed and re-entitled also as " TOGETHER WE STAND ..."

recorder 3: surfaced on fantapes, very nice quality, there's around a version from Kbrubaker Cassettes

1980 February 27

setlist: the usual one

Waters on Run Like Hell: "Thank you. Do you like our pig? He's not a very nice pig, but he's a BIG pig. There's more to our pig than meets the eye. Go home pig, go on, fuck off! Puffed up, overblown, pork-eyed garlic fat thing, go on, go. This next tune I'd like to dedicate to all the paranoid folk in the audience tonight, of whom I'm sure there are many. It's called 'Run Like Hell.'"

recorders known: few audio ones (prolly over 4) + 1 video source

recorders in circulation on CD: 3 + 1 source from video

recorder1: this is the most common recorder I think, versions from the master surfaced few years ago.

recorder2:  surfaced from a 1stGen few years ago.

recorrder 3: fair recording with few little cuts at least on the tape copies available in some collectors' archives, no CDs are circulating so far. The recording is complete except for few missing pieces but all between the songs, there are stops and few secs missing soon after Mother; at the beginning of One Of My Turns; at the beginning of Don't Leave Me Now; at the end of Goodbye Cruel World .. some prolly due to the copies, I ignore if on the masters

recorder4: surfaced recently from a Zeppelin fan archive, there's a version from 1stGen around

video source: around released by MoLM as part of their series

to distinguish them:

recorder1:

Intro/ITF? > the MC intro starts from the beginning, during the announcement: after "Welcome to Nassau Coliseum" a guy near to the taper yells "Yeah"; another guy whistles very loud during the announcement and there's clearly someone (maybe the taper) yelling "let's goooo!" ... then a girl yells "sit down!" and a guy "sit down a++holes!";

Hey You > The song starts missing few notes of the beginning. When Gilmour starts singing you can hear someone near to the taper talking clearly.

recorder2:

Intro/ITF? > the MC intro starts from near to the end; at the end of ITF? you can hear a lady yelling "wow!...allright!";

Hey You > a guy at the very beginning yells something like "Hey Heidy(??), Heidy!!" very near to the recorder, then he whistles and then you can hear a lady in the back talking.

recorder3: I'd call this the YEAH recorder because of the guy near to the taper yelling YEAH almost every 2 seconds during the show.

recorder4:

Intro/ITF? > the MC intro starts from "my name is Gary Yudman", audience is quite noisy around the taper here.

Mother > a lady and a man talks clearly near to the recorder before Waters starts singing.

1980 February 28

setlist: the usual one

Waters on Run Like Hell: "Do you like our pig? What?! He's not a very nice pig, but he's a BIG pig! This is a song for all the paranoids in the audience; it's called 'Run Like Hell.' Home piggy, home!"

recorders known: few ones (prolly over 2)

recorders in circulation on CD: 2,

recorder 1: maybe one of the most bootlegged recordings, probably because of the excellent sound quality; this recorder was used for many CD and also LP releases, it is in circulation from the masters as they were trasnferred by the taper for few years now, here are few examples of CD versions: Old bootlegs like Monopoly; Behind The Wall (STBX 022/23/24) and several others (have a look on the pf-db.de archive for CD and LP releases, all should be from this recorder althought I didn't check them all); fanreleases like this 2ndGen; the many releases from 1st generation copies like these: untitled; Home Piggy Home; the versions from the masters like this which is essentially a copy of the taper's master transfer, recently a supposed master transfer at 24/96 is in circulation too, with about the same SQ than before.

recorder 2: only recently surfaced this is inferior in quality to recorder 1, here's a version from the masters
